About Teams
Microsoft Teams is a messaging app for teams where all conversations, meetings, files, and notes can be accessed by everyone, all in one place. It's a place for collaboration and work to happen in the open.
Teams allows you to have private and group chats, online synchronous meetings, and document sharing and collaboration.
For more information, view the Online Interactive Demo.
Accessing Teams
To access Microsoft Teams, go to http://lesley.edu/office365 and log in with your Lesley email address and password.
Select the Teams web app to launch the program. Depending on your version, your Office 365 home page may look like any of the following:
Navigating Teams and Channels
Once you have launched Teams, click on the Teams button on the left side of the page. This will bring up a list of all of the teams in which you are a member. Click on your team to get started.
Teams are made up of channels. Each channel is dedicated to a topic, department, or project. Click on a channel to view the channel's content. All teams will have a General channel to begin with.
For more information see Teams and Channels.
Communicating With Your Team
Conversations in channels are visible to the entire team. Team members can participate in conversations, like or save important ones, mention specific people so they see the message, and even edit a file that’s been added to the conversation.
For more information see Productive Conversations.
Private Chats and Calls
Click on the Chat button on the left side of the page to create a private chat. Private chats are not visible to others in your Team sites.
Within the private chat you can type messages, share files, and more. You can also turn any chat into an audio or video call by clicking on the call or video button at the top of the screen.
For more information see Private Conversations, Calling.
