If you are having issues accessing Colleague through the VPN website at https://vpn.lesley.edu, there are some steps that you can take to troubleshoot.



Do you have permission to access Colleague through the VPN?


If you haven't requested permission to access Colleague via the VPN, you won't be able to access Colleague remotely.  Your supervisor can send an email to it@lesley.edu requesting the access for you.  Please request access at least two weeks in advance so that IT has time to set up your VPN access to Colleague.  Once your access has been set up, you will receive an email letting you know.



Is your browser enabled for Colleague?


Have you downloaded Microsoft Silverlight and have you set your browser to allow pop-ups for the Colleague site and for the vpn.lesley.edu site?   Click here to get instructions on how to enable your browser for Colleague access. Remember to also add the vpn.lesley.edu site to the allowed sites for pop-ups.




Is your Java enabled for Colleague?


There might be an issue with Java on your machine.  Here is a quick fix to make sure that your Java is enabled to work with the VPN.




1. Click on the Start menu, and then choose Control Panel.




2. Click on Java in the control panel.


3. Click on the Security tab.  If the security level is set to Very High, move the setting to High.  Click on the Edit Site List button.




4.  Press the Add button. 




5.  In the Location field that comes up, add https://vpn.lesley.edu. Press the Add button again and then add http://www.lesley.edu.  Press the OK button.




6.  A Security Warning will pop up because you included the http://www.lesley.edu address, which is an HTTP location instead of an HTTPS location.  Just press the Continue button.




7.  Press the OK button.




If you are still having issues, send an email to it@lesley.edu and IT will try to help you.  There is no support if you are trying to use the VPN via your personal computer.
