Assignments Overview

The Assignments tool allows you to view instructions and submit assignments through myLesley. Your instructor will provide you with all of the information you need to complete your assignment. Assignments are submitted directly to your instructor via the Assignment tool.

For more information on submitting assignments, see Submit Assignments or watch the Submit an Assignment video tutorial.

Submitting Assignments

Locate the Assignment in your course and click on the name to open it.

This will bring you to the Upload Assignment page. Be sure to review the instructions and download any files your instructor provided.

As a best practice, you should write your assignment in a separate tool, such as Microsoft Word, and upload it via the Assignment tool.

Please note that in order for your instructor to grade and comment on your assignment using myLesley's Inline Grading tool, you will need to be sure to save your file in one of the following formats:

  • Documents: doc, .docx
  • Presentations: .ppt, .pptx
  • Spreadsheets: .xls, .xlsx
  • PDF
  • Image Files: ai, bmp, dcm, eps, gif, png, ps, psd, svs, tga, tif, tiff

Click Browse my Computer to upload your assignment to the Assignment tool.

Optionally, you may add comments for your instructor.

Once you have uploaded your assignment, click Submit at the top or bottom of the page to send it to your instructor. You will receive a notification email when your assignment has been submitted.

Please note that if your instructor has not allowed multiple attempts you can only submit your assignment once. If you have made an error (ex attached the wrong file), please contact your instructor immediately.

Submitting Group Assignments

There are a few ways to submit a group assignment. See Submitting Group Assignments for more information and FAQs. For more information on working in groups, see Working in myLesley Groups.

SafeAssign

SafeAssign is used to prevent plagiarism and to create opportunities to help you identify how to properly attribute sources rather than paraphrase. SafeAssign compares your submitted assignments against a set of academic papers to identify areas of overlap between the submitted assignment and existing works, See Assignments Using SafeAssign to learn how to submit a SafeAssignment.

Viewing Grades

Once your instructor has viewed your assignment, they may grade it and provide feedback. See Viewing Grades in myLesley for information on viewing your graded assignment.
