Sharing Overview

Any VoiceThread you create is private by default. You decide who gets to see your VoiceThread and what level of permissions they have:  view only, comment, or edit. You can give these permissions to specific individuals or to groups of people.

Refer to Sharing VoiceThreads for more detailed information about sharing VoiceThreads.

There are several ways to share a VoiceThread in your myLesley course, including posting a link and using the built-in VoiceThread integration.

Post a Link

Posting a link to a VoiceThread is a common way that students share VoiceThreads within their myLesley courses. Clicking on the link will take users directly to a specific VoiceThread. It will also open the VoiceThread in the mobile app if you are on an iOS or Android device.

To obtain the share link for a VoiceThread, go to the Sharing Area. Check your Publishing Options to allow anyone with the link to view or comment on your VoiceThread. Then click the Copy Link button to copy the link to your clipboard.

Once you have copied the link, go into your myLesley course and navigate to the location you wish to paste your link (ex Discussion, Journal, etc.).

To create a link in an Original course, click on the Insert/Edit Link button in the content editor.

You will be prompted to enter the URL (you may copy and paste the link), the text to display (the words or phrase you want to use as your link), and select to open your link in a new window.

As a best practice, when creating a link you should ensure that your link conveys clear and accurate information about the destination. For example, instead of linking to the text Click here, include the full title of the destination page, such as Student A's VoiceThread.
