After considering all of the options, Lesley University has transitioned away from offering free cable service in dorm rooms after June 30th, 2018. Students will also not be able to sign up for individual accounts and pay for cable service in their dorm rooms.

Free cable service will continue in common areas.

We’ve made this decision in order to focus our resources on network/WiFi services. We know that over 25% of all activity on our Lesley network is for streaming services such as Netflix, Hulu, Amazon Prime and YouTube, and students are heavy users of these services. Concentrating our resources on network/WiFi services will enable us to serve the largest number of students.

Options for Cutting the Cord

Using an OTA (Over The Air) antenna is an alternative to cable TV, providing you with free access to local television.

Mohu is a popular manufacturer of OTA antennas.  You can visit their website to find the right antenna for you http://www.gomohu.com/tv-for-free-front/

Premium services such as YouTube TV and Sling TV offer access to popular television programming and similar features such as DVR for month service fee.

When using any streaming video service on a computer, we suggest plugging into the hardwired internet connection via an Ethernet cable.
