Beneficiaries

To Add, Remove, or Create a Beneficiary

You will go to Workday profile by clicking the person icon on the top right corner of your screen.



Under your name and business title, select Actions


Hover over Benefits and select Change Benefits




You will be directed to the Change Benefits screen. From the drop-down menu select Change Life Insurance Beneficiaries. Enter a Benefit Event Date you want this change take into effect. 


Click Submit to begin the benefit change. 




A pop-up will show you have a new task to change your benefit election. Click Open to begin the process and Let's Get Started to the benefit election change screen. 

 

 

Select Manage to the plan you want to make the change. You will be directed to the plan overview page. Click Confirm and Continue once the plan is selected.


 

On the next screen, select the + sign to add a primary beneficiary. You may enter as many as you like, but the percentages must add up to 100%. You may also enter contingent or Secondary beneficiaries.

 

The beneficiary tab will let you choose a beneficiary already entered or give you the option to add a new one. If this is your first time adding someone, click Add New Beneficiary or Trust.


A popup would ask if you want to add a new beneficiary or trust. Select Add New Beneficiary

Complete all sections with the red asterisk.


You must enter a telephone and address for each beneficiary under Contact Information




Click OK when you have finished entering your beneficiary information. The beneficiary will display when you selected to add a new beneficiary. 


Be sure to add the total percentage of beneficiaries to 100% depending on how many beneficiaries you have listed. For this example, one beneficiary will receive 100%. 



Click Save to save your changes.


You will be directed to the benefits page. Click Review and Sign to sign off on your changes. 


An overview of your changes will be displayed. If everything is correct, checkoff the I Accept checkbox on the bottom of the page to electronically signoff on your benefit election change.


Once you checkoff, click Submit and your election has been updated.
