Hybrid Teaching

Since the pandemic, teaching in classrooms has become adaptable for students and professors who are not able to join physically but are able to join virtually.  Preparing for last-minute hybrid class is made possible with our Hyflex technology installed in most classrooms throughout Lesley university.

Hybrid Teaching In Lesley Classrooms (Laptop & Hyflex)

Laptop

  • Turn on your laptop and log into Zoom via SSO using your Lesley credentials. Keep in mind you will only be signing into the Laptop with your Lesley username and password to access the Zoom meeting you have created

  •  Open the Zoom meeting that you have created on the laptop. Once you have signed in, keep in mind that you are now hosting the meeting from your laptop device.

This will be where you will admit participants, start and end Zoom meeting, share any slides, video or website with your students online and in class. You will be "Sharing your laptop screen" to project to the Hyflex. When sharing screen, be sure to select "Share Sound" and "Optimize for Video Clip".

  •  Make sure to Leave Computer Audio on the laptop, as the Hyflex will be the main source of audio for both input and output (microphone and speaker).

Hyflex

  • Once the Hyflex is on, locate the Zoom application and Join the Zoom you have created as a guest using the Meeting ID and passcode.

DO NOT sign into Zoom with your Lesley credentials, you will be kicked out of Zoom on your laptop if you try to.

  • Make sure to Join Computer Audio when the meeting launches, as this will be your main source of audio.

  • To join as a guest on the Hyflex system you will need to select Join a meeting and enter the meeting ID and passcode.  You can find the meeting ID and passcode by pressing invite in laptop's Zoom meeting window. Meeting ID is listed at the top of popup and passcode on the bottom right.
