Incorrect Password Error When Registering

First, make sure you are using the same Lesley University username and password that you use to log into LOIS or myLesley.  If you are still unable to register, please click on the "Please reset my password" link provided on the screen and follow the onscreen instructions.

Cannot Get to the Registration Page

If you have plugged your computer's Ethernet Cable into the wall and you still cannot get the Lesley Network registration page, here are a few things you can check:

  • Restart your computer.
  • Make sure that you have turned your wireless access off.
  • Check to see if others in your house are experiencing a problem too.
  • Make sure your Ethernet cable is securely fastened both to the computer and to the wall.
  • Make sure the cable you are using is an Ethernet cable, not a telephone cable.
  • Borrow a friend's Ethernet cable and see if it works. If it does, you may need to purchase a new cable.
  • Make sure your computer is properly configured for the network.
  • If you still cannot get the registration screen, call Information Technology at 617.349.8770.

Restricted from the Network

If a computer is causing a disruption on the network due to infection or inappropriate use, it may be restricted from the network by Information Technology for the protection of other users. If you have been restricted, please call Information Technology at 617.349.8770 and we will discuss your options with you.

Error 38 "The computer name you specified is already in use on the network."

Changing your computer's name usually solves this problem. To change your computer's name, follow these instructions:

  • Right-click on the Network Neighborhood icon.
  • Choose Properties and click the Identification tab.
  • Change the Computer Name field to your email username (i.e. jsmith).
  • Click OK until you are back at your computer's desktop.
  • Restart your computer.
