What is the size limit for email attachments?

Modified on Tue, 23 Dec 2014 at 11:22 AM

The size limit for emails sent or received is 20 MB. This can include any number of attachments, as long as the total size of the message and attachments doesn't exceed the limit.

If you are sending an email with many files attached, it helps to zip the files into a single zip file before sending the email. This will help to reduce the attachment size as the files will be compressed. If the size limitation poses a problem, please contact UT.

It is important to know that attachments stay with the message in the Sent Items folder, so sending many large attachments eats up mailbox quota quickly unless Sent Items is cleaned out often.
