What is Student Learning & Licensure (SLL)?

Student Learning & Licensure allows faculty to grade and assess student work on key assignments. Assessment data can then be used for accreditation and program improvement.

Link to an SLL Activity from your myLesley/Blackboard Course

In order for your students to submit their SLL activities, you will need to create a link to a specific SLL activity from your myLesley/Blackboard course. This link will log your students into SLL and take them directly to their assignment.  You also have the option to create a Gradebook column for this assignment, allowing SLL to send your assessment scores back to your course Gradebook.

Step 1: Create a link to Student Learning & Licensure in your myLesley/Blackboard Course

The first step is to create a link from your myLesley/Blackboard course to Student Learning & Licensure. This will allow students to access SLL. Once you create the link, the next step is to connect your specific activity to the course.

In your course, locate the place where you want to add your SLL activity and click the + icon to open a menu. Select Content Market.

This will bring you to the Content Market. Scroll down Student Learning and Licensure and click on the + button. This will add a link to SLL on your Course Content page.

Note: You must click the + button in the Student Learning & Licensure item in order to create your SLL link. 

Once you click the + button you will be brought back to your Course Content page. 

Locate your Student Learning and Licensure link and click the More Options (...) menu. Select Edit.

You may rename your link, make it visible to students, and add an (optional) description. Additionally, you may choose to grade the students' submissions within SLL and send the grade back to myLesley. If you would like to do this, click the option to Create gradebook entry for this item. You will then be prompted to enter a due date and grading information. Click Save to save your changes.

Step 2: Connect Your SLL Activity to your myLesley/Blackboard Course

Now that you have created your SLL link, you will need to connect your specific SLL activity to your myLesley/Blackboard course. 

On your Course Content page, click on the link you created in Step 1.

This will bring you into Student Learning & Licensure. Click Specific Activity.

You will be prompted to select a course section and an activity. Once you have finished, click the Select & Save button at the top of the page.

You will see a Success! message. Click Return to LMS. You may now close the browser window/tab to return to your course.

When students click on your link, they will be brought directly to your specific SLL Activity.

Disconnect your SLL Activity from your myLesley/Blackboard Course

If you are experiencing issues with your SLL link, you may need to disconnect your SLL Activity from your myLelsey/Blackboard course and re-link your activity. In order to do this, you will need to first disconnect the LMS Link option from within SLL. Then go back into your myLesley/Blackboard course and edit or delete your SLL link.

Assess Student Submissions in SLL

Once students have submitted their activities, you will assess them within SLL.
