How will pass/fail affect my scholarships for the next awarding period?

As described in your acceptance letter sent to you by the Lesley Admissions Office, your scholarship may be renewed each year, as long as you:

  • take at least 12 credits each semester (full-time status)
  • remain a student in good academic standing
  • continue to make satisfactory academic progress toward your degree.

Minimum scholarship requirements can be found in the Lesley University Academic Catalog.

Satisfactory academic progress has both qualitative and quantitative aspects. Students must earn acceptable grades over a limited time period to meet this goal. Satisfactory progress considers both the grade point average (GPA) and the completion rate of courses attempted. Students are measured qualitatively (by grades) and quantitatively (by completion).

In the case of pass/fail, the measurement is quantitative only. Students should be above the minimum GPA already so that aspect of their measurement would remain eligible. “P” grades increase the quantitative completion rate. An “F” grade will decrease both measurements.
