This online workshop, presented by Blackboard, provides hands-on instruction to prepare faculty for teaching in Blackboard Learn Ultra. Across four interactive webinars, participants will engage in a variety of activities and best-practice discussions to develop a thorough understanding of how to efficiently manage teaching tasks and create dynamic learning environments for students. Building on the foundation set by our Summer Academic Technology Institute, the Blackboard Learn Ultra Education Series (BLUES) equips faculty with practical skills and insights to enhance their courses and streamline their teaching in the digital age.

Getting Started with Learn Ultra
By the end of the module, participants should be able to:
- Navigate through the Blackboard Learn Ultra environment.
- Identify key features of the Blackboard Learn Ultra course structure.
- Understand how consistent course navigation can support student learning.
- Discuss a high-level overview of adding course content items and tools
Creating Dynamic Content
By the end of the module, participants should be able to:
- Recognize the importance of good course planning and implement rudimentary planning in course design.
- Identify best practices for online content.
- Create course content utilizing various content types, including documents, media, links, and more.
- Understand the importance of and need for accessibility in digital content.
Assessing Student Learning
By the end of the module, participants should be able to:
- Examine various components for effectively assessing student learning.
- Create assignments and tests in Learn Ultra.
- Explore grading workflows for various assignment types.
Putting it All Together
By the end of the module, participants should be able to:
- Recognize the design strategies that support impactful student learning.
- Develop empathy with the student experience.
- Consider additional options that contribute to a well-rounded course experience
- Review key course components from the Exemplary Course Rubric.
- Share and showcase colleague course designs.
