Do you need to drop a course from your schedule? First, make sure the add/drop deadline for your course hasn't passed yet. If you still have time to drop, log in to Self-Service and follow the directions below. If the add/drop deadline has passed, scroll to the bottom of this article for information on withdrawing from a course.

In Self-Service, navigate to the menu tab. You'll find it in the left sidebar on desktop. On mobile, it'll be near the top of the screen. Now select "Academics" and then "Register for Classes/View Schedule."

On the next page, you'll see the classes that you are currently enrolled in and your current schedule. Scroll to the course you would like to remove and select "Drop" as in the example below:

Finally, select the sections you would like to drop and click "Update":

Did you miss the add/drop deadline? You can still remove a course from your schedule, but you'll receive a "W" grade. You'll also need to contact us by submitting a ticket to request a course withdrawal. You can drop with a W grade until the course withdrawal deadline for the applicable term. Visit our Academic Calendar for a list of these dates. Please note that some undergraduate students will need an instructor's signature to withdraw from a course.

Things to remember:

- Dropping a course may affect your financial aid. Contact Student Financial Services before droppinif you'd like to know how revising your schedule might affect your financial aid award.

- You can't use Self-Service to drop every course on your schedule at once. Instead, submit a Request for Withdrawal/Leave of Absence. For information on leaves of absence, see the University's Academic Policies page.
