Approving Requests for Time Off

You can approve a request time off such as personal, vacation, sick, jury duty, or bereavement for employees that report to you. 


Accessing Request Time Off

Step 1: All requests will come through the manager’s inbox in Workday.

Step 2: Navigate to the request from the employee.


Step 3: The time requested will appear in the grid in the message.

Step 4: Manager has multiple options to process requests:

 

Step 5: If the manager approves the time off, the notification will be sent to the employee that the time off request has been approved.

 

Step 6: If Manager selects the Send Back feature, they will be required to provide a reason and the employee will receive an email in their Workday inbox.

Step 7: If Manager selects Deny a notification is sent to the employee.

 

Please Note: it is recommend that the manager discuss the nature of the denial prior to processing.
