Allowing pop-ups for specific sites

Click on the links below to go to the instructions for allowing pop-ups for certain sites. Please note that if you want to enable pop-ups for all Lesley server sites, put  *.lesley.edu  in the allowed sites. 


IE - Allowing Pop-ups for Windows

Edge - Allowing Pop-ups for Edge

Mozilla Firefox - Allowing Pop-ups for Windows

Mozilla Firefox - Allowing Pop-ups for Macs
Safari - Un-blocking Pop-ups for Mac
Chrome - Allowing Pop-ups for Windows and Macs



IE - Allowing Pop-ups for Windows

1. In the Tools menu, click on Pop-up Blocker.

2. Choose Pop-up Blocker Settings.


3. Add the site address - *lesley.edu works for all Lesley sites - and press the Add button.

4. Press the Close button.



 Edge - Allowing Pop-ups

1. Click the Settings icon (3 little dots) in the upper right-hand corner of the browser window.

2. Scroll down and choose Settings.

3. Scroll down and click on Site permissions.

4. Scroll down and choose Pop-ups and redirects.

5. Press the Add button to the right of Allow and add the url in the box that opens. Press Add again.

Mozilla Firefox - Allowing Popups for Windows


1. In the Tools menuclick on Options, then click on Privacy & Security from the menu on the left.



2. Scroll down to the Permissions section and then click on the Exceptions button next to the Block pop-up windows checked box.

 

 



3. Add the website url - *lesley.edu works for all Lesley sites - in the Address of website: field and press the Allow button, then the Save Changes button.





4. Close the Options tab.




Mozilla Firefox - Allowing Popups for Macs


1. In the Firefox drop down menu at the top left of the screen, click on Preferences, then choose Privacy and Security from the menu on the left.

 



2. Scroll down to the Permissions section and then click on the Exceptions button next to the Block pop-up windows checked box.

 

 



3. Add the website url - *lesley.edu works for all Lesley sites - in the Address of website: field and press the Allow button, then the Save Changes button..  

 



4. Close the Preferences tab.





Safari - Unblocking Pop-ups for Mac



1. In the Safari menu, go to Preferences

 


2. In the preferences menu select the Websites tab. The website you are on will show in the Currently Open Websites area. To the right of the url, you will see the default setting of Block and Notify.




3. Press the arrows to the right of Block and Notify, and choose Allow.



4. Close the Websites window.





Chrome - Allowing Pop-Ups for Windows and Macs


1. Click on the Customize and control Google Chrome icon in the upper right-hand corner and choose Settings from the drop-down menu.


2. Click on Privacy and security.




3. Click on the arrow to the right of Site Settings.




5. Scroll down and click on the arrow to the right of Pop-ups and redirects.




6. Click on the ADD button to the right of Allow.



7. Add the website url - *lesley.edu works for all Lesley sites - in the Site field and click on the Add button.
