Teams Virtual Backgrounds

Are you working in a shared space right now? For most of us, our transition to at home work and learning has been a big learning curve! We all have unique living situations and have been confined within spaces that we haven't considered work spaces in the past. One way to help with the added stresses and challenges of virtual environments is the use of virtual backgrounds.


Virtual backgrounds can bring your virtual meetings up to the next level. Having your camera on, being well lit and using a background feature will turn up the value and formality of any meeting, large or small!


Here is your Labs & Classrooms team! As you can see, Stephanie has no virtual background turned on. I have Marran Theater set as my background and am going through different options on the right hand side.




How To-


From the meeting, click on the "..." on the top bar. This will drop down a list of options > select "Apply Background Effects"


From there, this sidebar will pop up on the right hand side of your meeting. You can select any of the supplied images, including the "Blur" feature (this just puts a blurry filter instead of an image). 



If you want to add your own image, press the "+ Add New" button to upload your own photo! If want a Lesley inspired background you can download them here!




You can even Preview your background before you choose it. Other folks in the meeting won't see your video while you preview. It will give you the ability to get situated and pick a background that reflects your meeting or personality. Once you select an image, hit the "Apply and turn on video" button!
