Using the MiCollab phone client on a computer

You can make calls from your computer and/or mobile device using the MiCollab phone client.  Here are instructions on how to do so.

 Making and receiving calls

Making a call

You can place a call by typing the number in the search or dial bar at the top of the screen.  You do not need to dial the 9 as the system inserts it automatically for you.  Depending on the number you are calling you may need to dial a 1 before the number (ex: 1-603-999-9999).  You can also place an outbound call by right-clicking on a contact in your contacts tab or from your call history on the call history tab.

Receiving a call

When receiving a call it will show on your client with an Accept call (green icon) or Decline call (red icon).  If you have the client minimized a notification will appear in the lower right-hand corner of your screen which you can click on to bring up MiCollab.

Options when on a call

While on a call you have the following options pictured below:

Top left (microphone) – mute

Top middle (pause symbol) – place on hold\remove from hold

Top right (3 circles) – more options – transfer – speaker – etc…

Bottom left (7 circles) – dial pad

Bottom right (red phone) – end the call

Changing your status

If you click on your initials at the top right of MiCollab you will find different statuses to place yourself in.

You can manage your statuses by clicking on Manage Status.  For example, you can choose to send your calls to VM (8977) when you choose the Do not Disturb status.

Issues with volume

Windows

If you are having an issue with audio please verify that the settings are correct and set up for MiCollab to use in Windows.  The bottom left corner of the MiCollab client has a gear symbol,  and clicking on this displays your microphone and your audio (headset/speakers) settings.  You can do so by going to Settings > System > Sound > App volume and device preferences > MiCollab drop downs. If you have multiple options please make sure these match in both MiCollab and this Windows setting.

To set up forwarding in Micollab – go to settings – general – my numbers – hit the 3 little dots on the top right and select new – set up a new number for the cell phone.

Once you have your number set up go to settings – manage status – this is where you control your calls depending on the status your in – if you want forwarding on at all times I would go through each status and select send my calls to and select the ‘’cell’’ number you created ( mine below for example)

Using MiCollab on and off campus

The teleworker setting in MiCollab should be turned off when on campus and on when off campus otherwise you might see an issue in the bottom right corner where your softphone says ''registration lost''.

You can get to this by going to settings and then general - top right is a slider for use teleworker.  Slider to the right (pictured below) is on and to the left is off.
