Workday is now in Microsoft Teams! Within Teams you can now perform certain tasks as if you were in Workday. You can request time off, view your time off balances, view pay slip, and much more!
When you sign on into Teams, you will see the Workday application on the left hand-side as well as a chat with the Workday logo. Your first message from Workday will be to setup your connection to the Workday platform. You will only need to login once.
Once you click Connect to Workday you will be directed to a website to Authorize Workday. Select Allow to authenticate your login and to allow Teams and Workday to communicate with one another.
You will go back to the Workday Teams chat and you should now see a message on a quick tutorial on how to use the chat features.
When you want to launch an action, you will first send a message to Workday. You can either send Hi and it will list the actions you can take OR the specific action.
Workday uses AI to understand what you are sending. For example, we will go over on submitting a time off request.
You can enter the date either as 3/1 or March 1st. Once you have your dates selected, you will get a drop down of what time off plan you want to use. The same eligible plans you have in Workday you will now have in Teams.
Once you submit your time off request, your manager will receive a teams message asking to either approve or deny your time off request. They can perform this action straight from the teams app. All requests, approvals, and processes from teams will show in Workday as if they were submitted from the site.
You can do various other tasks from Teams that will pull the information from Workday. Below are some other actions you can take. Click Explore all to see all the available actions.
