Tracking Federal Work-Study Amounts

To track your student employee’s Federal Work-Study awards in real time, you can use the report “My Students Federal Work Study Amounts.” 

There are two ways to locate the report. The first way is by searching “My Students Federal Work Study Amounts” in the Workday search bar. 

 

Alternatively, you can find the report in your My Team Management dashboard. To find the dashboard, click on Menu on the top left of your Workday home page. This will produce a drop-down menu where you can navigate to My Team Management.

In My Team Management, you will find the section titled Student Resources and you will select the report titled My Students Federal Work Study Amounts. 

 
 

The report will show your student employees with a Federal Work-Study Award and include the following information: 

  • Student Employee Name 
  • Employee ID 
  • Email Address 
  • FWS Award Amount 
  • This number reflects the total FWS award amount. Please note that some students are eligible to have their award amount increased. HR/Financial Aid will be reviewing awards closely to determine if an increase is needed. You may see this amount change. 

  • Award Paid     
  • This is how much of the award has been paid out to the student at the time the report is generated 

  • Award Balance 
  • This is how much of the award is left 

  • Award % Left 
  • This is the percentage of how much of the award is left. Managers and students will receive notifications when the award has reached 50%, 75%, 90% and 100%. 

  • Award % Paid 
  • This shows the percentage of the award that has been used. 


Please note: The report will capture information based on any hours submitted and approved in Workday.
