Late Registration Fees and How to Avoid Them

Beginning with spring 2027, Lesley University charges a late registration fee if your first registration for the semester occurs after the open registration deadline. Register during open registration to avoid this fee.

How much is the fee?

  • $50: If your first registration for the semester occurs after the open registration deadline but before the first day of the semester.
  • $100: If your first registration for the semester occurs on or after the first day of the semester, including during the add/drop period.

New students are exempt. Students registering as part of their initial enrollment at the University are not subject to these fees.

Will I be charged for adding, dropping, or changing courses?

This late registration fee applies to your first registration for the semester. Changes to your initial registration do not incur this fee. If you register during open registration and later add, drop, or change courses, you will not be charged a late registration fee simply because you make those changes after the open registration deadline.

How can I avoid the fee?

Complete your registration during the open registration period for the semester. Review your course plan with your academic advisor and address any outstanding registration holds or prerequisite requirements as early as possible.

Registering early also gives you more time to resolve financial issues, secure the courses you need, address scheduling concerns, and prepare for the upcoming semester.

Can I request an exception?

If you are unable to register by the applicable deadline due to circumstances beyond your control, you may request an exception to the late registration fee by contacting the Registrar’s Office at help@lesley.edu. Requests will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis.
