Create a Learning Path

Learning Paths allows learners to create their own learning journey with the content available within Workday. This article will help guide you on how to create a path. 


On the Workday homepage, navigate to the Learning application.



You will be directed to the Learning Experience homepage. On the navigational panel on the left-hand side of the screen, select My Learning



You will find a section named Learning Paths. Any paths you create can be found here and this is also where you can create new learning paths. 


To create a new Learning Path, click the Create a Path action on the right-hand side of the screen.



A pop up will display asking you to enter a Path Title and Description. A title is a required field. Description is optional. If you create more than one learning path with similar content or journey, adding a description may help describe the difference between them. Once you have entered a title and description (optional), select the Create button.



A pop up will display on the top middle of your screen that a new learning path was created with a link to go to your new learning path. Click the link to navigate to your newly created learning path.



You will be directed to your new learning path. You are now ready to add your content for your learning journey. You can perform various actions on your learning path.


  • Edit Details: Allows you to make edits to the name and description of your learning path.
  • Delete Path: If you no longer need the path or created it an error, you can delete it. 
  • Add Content: You will be able to add content available from the Workday.



To add new content, click the Add Content action. You will be directed to the Discover section within the Learning Experience homepage. This is where you can browse the library of content within Workday Learning. 


You can browse for content by browsing through the Learning Catalog, browse Learning Topics, and any Recently Added courses. 



Once you have found a course you are interested in adding to your learning path, click the Save action. You will have different options on how you want to save the course. Click the title of your newly created learning path to save the course within your path.


Note: You also have the option to Create a New Path when saving a course you are interested in. 


Note: Learning Programs cannot be added to Learning Paths.



Once you click the title of your learning path you want to save the content in, you will get a pop up on your screen that the course has been added to your training path. You can click the action to take you to your learning path.


You will need to repeat the same action if you want to add more than one course to your learning path. Each course you are interested in adding, click the Save action and select the title of the learning path.



Once you have added all the content you want, you can arrange the order of how you want to take the training. Click the six dots on the left-hand side of the corner to rearrange the content. You can go up and down.


You can also remove any content from your path by clicking the three dots on the right-hand side of the content.


Now that you have all your content arranged and is ready to being your training journey, click Play to begin your learning path. You will be directed to take each individual content one by one. 



Once you have completed all the training, you will receive completion for your learning path. You can retake your learning path if you ever need to refresh yourself of the content or you can add more content.
