If you have more than one web browser on your computer such as Safari, Firefox, and Internet Explorer, you might want to have one browser set as the default browser. If you want to use Firefox as your default browser, follow the steps below:

To make Firefox the Default Browser on a Mac

1. Choose Preferences from the Firefox menu.

2. Choose General from the left-hand menu, and click the Make default button.

3. If you had another browser chosen as the default browser, a window will pop up asking if you want to keep the other browser, or use Firefox. Press the Use "Firefox" button.

4. You'll see the message saying that Firefox is currently your default browser. You can close the Preferences tab.
