Laptop Program Partnership

The Lesley University Laptop Program gives students, staff, faculty, adjuncts, and emeritus employees access to recommended laptop purchasing options and repair support for personally owned computers.

Lesley University partners with Micros Northeast for laptop repairs and service. While the Lesley IT team can help coordinate the repair process, Lesley IT does not perform hardware repairs on personally owned computers. Instead, our team works with Micros Northeast to assist with logistics such as device drop-off, communication, and pickup coordination.

Services available through this partnership may include repair, virus removal, software installation, and component upgrades, regardless of where the computer was originally purchased.

Visit the Laptop Purchase Site to explore laptop options and view recommendations for your program. If you have questions about purchasing, you may also contact Micros Northeast directly at 781-935-1456.

Important Information

  • Lesley IT coordinates repair logistics with Micros Northeast, but does not complete the repair work.
  • Laptops purchased through the Lesley University Laptop Program include a manufacturer warranty.
  • If a device is under warranty and the issue is covered, warranty-eligible repairs are completed at no charge.
  • If a device is not under warranty, the owner is responsible for diagnostic fees, labor charges, and any required parts.

Student Purchases

Lesley University College of Art and Design
Students in the Lesley University College of Art and Design (LA+D) must follow the specific technology requirements for their academic program. Please visit the Laptop Purchase Site and select the tab for your major when purchasing a computer.

If you have questions about LA+D technology requirements, you may contact Academic Computing Services at (617) 349-8038 or email it@lesley.edu

All Other Programs

Students in all other Lesley University programs can review recommended laptop specifications based on access to campus resources and essential productivity applications. On the Laptop Purchase Site, select the All Others tab to view the current recommendation.

Faculty and Staff Personal Purchases

Faculty, staff, adjuncts, and emeritus employees may also use the program to purchase a personal computer and receive service support for a personally owned device. You may still receive assistance, even if your computer was purchased from another vendor, for a fee.

Warranty Repairs

Micros Northeast is an authorized service center for HP, Lenovo, Apple, and Dell. They provide certified repairs and support based on manufacturer warranty terms and conditions.

If your device is under warranty, the process is:

  • Drop off your device through the Lesley IT coordination process.
  • Micros Northeast verifies warranty coverage and diagnoses the issue.
  • The repair is completed if covered under warranty.
  • You are notified when the device is ready for pickup.

Warranty coverage is subject to the manufacturer’s terms and conditions.

Out-of-Warranty Repairs

If your device is not under warranty, Micros Northeast can still provide repair service. Please note that out-of-warranty repairs are not free.

The process is:

  • Drop off your device with Lesley IT for coordination with Micros Northeast.
  • Micros Northeast diagnoses the issue and identifies any needed parts.
  • Micros Northeast contacts you with a repair quote for approval.
  • You decide whether to move forward with the repair.
  • If you approve, the repair is completed, and you are notified when the device is ready for pickup.

Current out-of-warranty pricing:

  • $75 diagnostic fee. This covers the evaluation of the device and is credited toward the repair if you choose to proceed.
  • $125 repair labor fee, plus the cost of any required parts.

If you decide not to move forward with the repair, you are still responsible for the diagnostic fee.
