Overview

Both faculty and students may choose to create printable versions of different types of content in myLesley, including weekly sessions/modules, blogs/journals, or wiki pages. Please note that in some cases you will need to use the Google Chrome browser in order to save to PDF.

Weekly Sessions/Modules

Please note that you will need to use the Google Chrome browser in order to save your weekly content as a printable PDF.

Navigate to one of the weekly modules/sessions. Select all of the content you wish to print. As a best practice, start at the last word and scroll up to the top of the page until all of your content is highlighted.

select your text prior to printing to PDF

Next, go to the Print menu on your browser. This may vary slightly based on your browser and operating system.

On the Mac, you will generally go to the File menu at the top of your screen and select Print

on a mac, select File and Print

On the PC, you will generally go to the Menu button on the top right corner of the browser and select Print.

on a PC, navigate to the Menu button and select Print

From the Print menu, select Save as PDF. Depending on your content and the way it displays on the page, you may need to adjust the layout (Landscape seems to work best), paper size, margins, and scale. In order to include any images, do not check the Selection Only option.

set your destination as Save as PDF and check your settings to make sure the content appears properly on the page

You will be prompted to save your file. Please note that you will need to do this for all of your modules/sessions/folders.

Collect and Print Discussions

In order to retain Discussion Board content, complete with your classmates' names, you will need to collect your discussions and save them to PDF.

To begin, go to a Discussion Board Forum and open a thread. Select the check boxes next to the posts you want to collect. If the post has replies, select the check boxes for those posts as well to include them in the collection. Or click Select All at the top of the page to select all of the posts in the discussion.

At the top of the page, click Message Actions. This will open a drop-down menu. Select Collect.

Once you have sorted or collected your Discussion posts you may sort them by author, subject, date, or thread order. You may also sort by ascending or descending order.

Once you have collected and/or sorted your Discussions, you may print them or save them as a PDF.

Click the Print Preview button at the top of your Search or Collection page.

This will bring up the Print Preview window. Here you may select to Save as a PDF or print to your printer. Please note that your view may vary based on your browser and computer operating system.

For more information, see Search and Collect Discussions in myLesley .

Blogs/Journals and Wiki Pages

Navigate to the blog/journal or wiki page you would like to save. For best results, you will want to hide the columns for your course menu and the blog/journal/wiki details.

Once you have hidden the columns you will see only the blog/journal entry or the wiki page on the screen.

Next, go to the Print menu on your browser. This may vary based on your browser and operating system.

On the Mac, you will generally go to the File menu at the top of your screen and select Print

On the PC, you will generally go to the Menu button on the top right corner of the browser and select Print.

From the Print menu, select Save as PDF. This may vary based on your browser and operating system.

You will be prompted to save your file. Please note that you will need to do this for all of your blogs/journals and wiki pages.
