Portable Wireless Hotspots

Lesley University does not loan hotspots. Instead, you have two options for getting online away from campus:

1. Connect to Eduroam at participating institutions worldwide
2. Borrow a hotspot from your local Massachusetts library.

Here’s how each option works.

Option 1: Connect with Eduroam

Lesley University is a member of the Eduroam network, which allows students, faculty, and staff to connect to wireless networks at participating institutions worldwide.

Steps to connect

1. Check the Eduroam map to find a participating institution near you.
2. Before you leave for your trip, make sure your Lesley email account is active, and your Lesley login credentials are up to date.
3. When you arrive at the participating institution, look for the Eduroam wireless network and select it.
4. Log in with your Lesley email address and password.
5. You should now be connected to the internet.

Option 2: Borrow a hotspot from your local library

Many libraries in Massachusetts have hotspots available for loan to library patrons.

Steps to borrow

1. Check the Massachusetts library hotspot information; many libraries have hotspots available for loan to patrons.
2. Confirm any restrictions: who can borrow, how long the loan lasts, and whether any fees or deposits are required.
3. If you meet the requirements and agree to the loan terms, reserve a hotspot online or at the library.
4. Pick up the hotspot at the library and follow the instructions provided to connect.
5. Return the hotspot at the end of the loan period to avoid late fees.
